GOT DRUGS?
The National Prescription Drug Take-Back day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription and over-the-counter drugs, while also educating the general public about the abuse of medications. This event is held in the Spring and Fall.
This program has grown with each event. We started with one location at the Walla Walla Police Department and have since expanded to having an additional location at the College Place Police Department.
Walla Walla Area Crime Watch sponsors a free Shred Event alongside the Prescription Drug Take-Back day to help combat identity theft by providing a shred truck on site. Your generous cash donations to the Shred Truck Fundraiser help to support Crime Watch programs.
Crime Watch volunteers man the shred event and help at the Prescription Drug Take-Back table, assisting the officers.
This event is held twice a year; once in the spring and again in the fall.
Location: Pioneer Park
Volunteers are needed to help inflate 1,000 National Night Out balloons, help with registration, environmental control (garbage collection), setting up tables and canopies, assisting participants when needed, and help with take down when the event is over.
This event is held once a year on the first Tuesday of August.
